Swim Team Updates!
June 18th
Hi, Racquetfish Families!
Let's ride the [macarena] spirit of Tuesday's meet into the weekend! Watching our kids swim and dance their hearts out was a real joy. Additionally, you all did a wonderful job last week RSVPing for the meet and showing up (or letting me know you'd be late). It was the smoothest start to a meet we've had. Thank YOU!
Looking forward....
- RSVPs for next Tuesday's meet against Banbury Woods close at 11:30pm tomorrow (Friday) night. We still have 25 swimmers with no RSVP. Get 'em in!!
- Volunteer needs for Tuesday's meet include an Order of Finish Judge and a Runner. If you haven't volunteered yet, these are great and easy opportunities to pitch in and get your required volunteer points. Bonus: it's FUN. I observed our volunteers loving being at the center of the action at this week's meet. As a reminder, families are required to rack up 100 points of volunteering throughout the season (points per position are in handbook), and every 150 points will result in a $75 credit to your RRC account in August!
- PSA: please encourage your swimmers to clean up after themselves at meets. I threw away lots of bottles/wrappers/trash at the end of the meet. We need to respect our host team's pool deck (and our own).
- Finally, our meet result this week was closer than it seemed--pretty amazing, given that Crabtree is a whole division up. With a few more older swimmers, we might have had a different outcome! We know summer schedules are busy, but we encourage you to make every meet you can, as every swimmer and every point counts!
Thank you for reading to the end, and we look forward to seeing your swimmers tomorrow morning (weather permitting) for practice and Friday donuts!
Go Racquetfish!
