Good Afternoon, Racquetfish Families!

I'm pleased to welcome you to the 2025 summer swim season! For those of you I don't already know, my name is Christy Revels and I'm the swim team parent lead and volunteer coordinator for summer 2025. We are pumped for a great summer, with all five 2024 rockstar coaches and all key RRC and parent staff returning, and 55 families signed up to swim. It's going to be FUN.

New this year (and other important info): 

1. Key info and the 2025 handbook (also attached) can be found all over the awesome website, rrc.swimtopia.com. It's also where you'll RSVP to all team events, including meets, and sign up for volunteer jobs/tasks. See instructions on p. 12 of the handbook, or under the "Meets & Events" sub-tabs on the website.

2. In addition to leveraging our Swimtopia website for season info and event/meet/volunteer signups, we encourage parents to download the Swimtopia app for access to heat sheets and meet results. The free version is fine, and, you may optionally upgrade to the paid version for June/July to track your swimmer's events at meets in real time.

3. All families are required to accrue 100 points for various volunteer jobs/tasks for the summer, with overachievers earning account credits in 150-point increments. Jobs are LIVE online for signup for all meets, so go grab the ones you want before someone else does! Here's how: https://rrc.swimtopia.com/signup-instructions *Note: certain jobs require TSA pre-season training, some of which have already been assigned/restricted to certain individuals. Please reach out to me if one of these interests you!

4. While we have our same two fantastic Stroke and Turn Judges returning this summer, their children are getting older, and we need an additional 1-2 people to take the required pre-season training and step into learning this role this summer. Please email me if interested! This generally requires you to work 3 meets, earning you an account credit at the end of the summer.

5. RRC/Chef Jason are providing for BOTH the opening party and the closing banquet, included in your registration fee. YES!

6. Please RSVP to the 5/27 Opening Party NO LATER THAN 5/20, and to the 5/31 Time Trials NO LATER THAN 5/24. You might as well just go there right now and let us know whether or not to expect you! RSVP here: https://rrc.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

7. Information will be sent separately to Racquetfish and Racquetguppy groups this summer, so as not to confuse or overload the Guppy families with extraneous information. If you have swimmers belonging to both groups, you may receive some duplicative information. (Also, we need a Guppy parent coordinator--it's a light communications role that exempts you from other volunteering--please let me know if you or someone you know is interested!)

8. The first meet is only about a month away, on 6/10, so test out those team swimsuits and get some new ones ordered, as needed (see handbook for requirement)!

9. As communications will now come via Swimtopia, if a parent or other involved family member/adult didn't receive this email and would like to be kept in the loop with summer communications, they'll need to create a Swimtopia account, and we can assist with linking it to your swimmer(s).
